A rat is perfect.Low maintenance, females are hyper males are calmer, but either way they are great pets. I’ve had 3. And they don’t smell, just have to clean their cage.And they will eat your scraps. Ferrets are fantastic too. But more maintenance.

Reasons I need a pet that isn’t a fish:
- I need something that I can play with and care for for therapy reasons
- I get too attached to fish and have a mini panic attack when they get sick because there are like 10 different things that could be wrong
- They die…easily.
- I love fish but I get too attached and cry.
- I can actually play with a pet like a guinea pig.
